# Connect Xtream Codes

If your IPTV provider gives you a server address, username, and password, it uses the **Xtream Codes** API. Prefer it over M3U when you have both — you get better categories, proper series organization, and an automatic program guide.

## Add your account

1. Go to **Settings → Sources** and choose **Xtream** under IPTV.
2. Give the source a name (it defaults to "IPTV").
3. Enter the **Server URL**, **Username**, and **Password** exactly as your provider sent them.
4. Tap **Add**. Dion validates the credentials before saving, then syncs channels, movies, and series.

## The program guide is automatic

When you add an Xtream source, Dion automatically registers your provider's XMLTV guide feed as an EPG source. It appears in **Manage EPG** with an "Auto" badge and can't be deleted. You can add extra EPG sources on top of it — see [add or fix EPG sources](/support/live-tv/add-or-fix-epg-sources).

## Check your account status

Open **Settings → Sources** and tap your Xtream source. The **Server Info** section shows what your provider reports:

- **Status** — whether the account is active.
- **Connections** — active streams versus the maximum your plan allows. If you hit the maximum, new streams won't start until another one stops.
- **Expires** — when your plan ends. An expired account is the most common reason streams suddenly stop working.
