Organize your channels

Create, reorder, and hide categories

Channel categories come from your provider's playlist, and you can curate them per source:

  1. Open Settings → Sources and tap the source.
  2. Choose Manage Content (a Pro feature), then open the live category manager.
  3. Choose New Category, enter a name, and save it. The new category starts empty; add channels from a channel's actions with Add to Category. Tap Edit to reorder categories, and use the visibility control to hide categories you never watch.

Hiding a category only affects what Dion shows — nothing is deleted from your provider.

Manage the channels inside a category

Open a category to reorder its current channels or hide individual channels. On iPhone, iPad, and Mac, use Add Channel to restore a provider channel previously hidden from that category. To add a channel to a custom category, open the channel's actions and choose Add to Category. For a provider category, Reset Category restores its original name, channel order, visibility, and channel customizations.

From a channel's actions, choose Customize Channel to set a custom name, EPG channel, or EPG time offset. On iPhone, iPad, and Mac you can also set a custom logo URL. These changes affect only how the channel appears in Dion.

Merge duplicate channels

Many providers list the same channel several times at different qualities ("HD", "FHD", "4K"). Settings → Live TV → Group Duplicate Channels controls how Dion handles them.

  • When on — quality variants combine into a single entry, and you pick a specific variant from the quality picker inside the player.
  • When off — every entry appears separately, exactly as your provider lists them.

Hide live TV from a source entirely

If a source should only contribute movies and shows, turn off its Live TV toggle under Manage Content — see manage your sources.
