Connect SMB or WebDAV storage

If your media lives as files on a NAS or computer — without a media server like Plex or Jellyfin — add it as file storage. Dion scans the folders you choose and builds a library from what it finds.

SMB (network shares)

SMB is the standard file-sharing protocol used by NAS devices, Windows, and macOS sharing.

1. Go to Settings → Sources and choose SMB under File Storage. Servers on your network often appear automatically under Available on Your Network.
2. Enter the Server Name and Server Address, plus your Username and Password.
3. Under Advanced Settings you can change the Port (default 445), preselect a Shared Folder, and set the Media Path inside it.
4. Connect, then pick which shared folders Dion should scan under Select Shares.

WebDAV

1. Go to Settings → Sources and choose WebDAV under File Storage.
2. Enter the Server Name, Server URL, Username, and Password.
3. Under Advanced you can change the Port, set the Start Path, and enable Accept Self-Signed Certificates for servers with self-issued TLS certificates.
4. Use the built-in folder browser to pick where your media lives.
