Source won't connect

Updated

M3U and Xtream

  • Dion validates credentials when you add the source, so an error at add-time means the details are wrong or the server is unreachable — re-paste the URL, username, and password exactly as your provider sent them.
  • If a working source stops connecting, your provider may have rotated the server URL or your plan expired. Update the address via Edit Details, and check Server Info (Xtream) for status and expiry.
  • Pasting an M3U link that contains get.php?username=… switches the form to Xtream automatically — that's expected and preferable.

Plex

  • "No Plex servers found on this account" — the account you signed in with has no reachable servers. Verify the server is online and that it's shared with that account (or sign in with the owner account).
  • Sign-in happens in the browser (or via plex.tv/link on Apple TV) and Dion picks up the approval automatically — if it hangs on "Waiting for approval", complete the browser step and return to the app.
  • For a source that stopped working after a password change, open it in Settings → Sources and tap Reauthorize.

Jellyfin

  • "Could not reach a Jellyfin server at that address." — check the URL and port (default 8096, e.g. http://192.168.1.50:8096) and that you're on a network that can reach the server.
  • "Invalid credentials." — use the same username and password that work in the Jellyfin web interface. Quick Connect codes are not supported.
  • If you use different addresses at home and away, add both via Manage URLs on the source.

Emby

  • "Could not reach an Emby server at that address." — check the URL and port, and make sure your device can reach the server on the current network. Both local and public addresses work.
  • "Invalid credentials." — use the same username and password that work in Emby's web interface.
  • If you use different addresses at home and away, add both via Manage URLs on the source. See connect Emby for the complete setup.

SMB and WebDAV

  • SMB's default port is 445; WebDAV servers with self-issued certificates need Accept Self-Signed Certificates enabled in the form's advanced options.
  • Local servers require local-network permission — if nothing appears under Available on Your Network, check the system's Local Network privacy setting for Dion.
  • On Mac, SMB/WebDAV sources are added from an iPhone or iPad — see connect SMB or WebDAV.
