Streams won't play or keep buffering

Updated

1. Check your account first (IPTV)

For Xtream sources, open Settings → Sources → your source and read Server Info:

  • Expires — an expired plan is the most common reason streams suddenly stop.
  • Connections — if active connections have hit your plan's maximum (other devices or family members watching), new streams won't start until one stops. Stopping playback on another device usually fixes it instantly.
  • Status — confirms whether the provider considers your account active.

2. Isolate the problem

  • One channel fails, others work — the problem is that stream on your provider's side. Providers often carry the same channel in several qualities; if you use Group Duplicate Channels, try another variant from the quality picker in the player.
  • Everything fails on one source — re-check the source's credentials with Edit Details, or Reload it. Your provider may have rotated URLs.
  • Everything fails everywhere — test your connection and, if you're on a VPN, try toggling it. Some providers require a VPN; others block them.

3. Buffering and stuttering

  • Try a lower-quality variant of the channel if your provider offers one.
  • For Plex, Jellyfin, or Emby, lower Settings → Player → Default Streaming Quality so the server sends a smaller transcoded stream. You can also choose a temporary quality from the player.
  • Check Settings → Player → Streaming CacheAuto (disk cache) is the most forgiving setting for unstable streams; Memory Only is the most constrained.
  • On Wi-Fi, distance and congestion matter more than raw speed. If another device streams fine next to the failing one, compare networks before blaming the app.

4. Send us the details

If a stream reliably fails, use Settings → Report a Problem right after reproducing it — the report includes a recent playback trace, which is exactly what we need. See get help and report a problem.
